Whole-building energy data

Building Benchmark BC participants should submit whole-building energy use data to the program, including tenant spaces and common areas. 


If your property is serviced by BC Hydro or New Westminster Electric Utility, your building may be eligible for data aggregation whereby the utility provider combines and anonymizes the energy consumption of each tenant for benchmarking purposes. More information specific to your utility provider can be found below.


Electricity

BC Hydro customers (Website Link)

  • Data aggregation available to Commercial buildings with three or more commercial accounts, and Multi-unit residential buildings with five or more residential accounts

  • You can request a code to set up monthly automatic uploads of your building's aggregated usage data to ESPM, or you can request a one-time export from BC Hydro
