How is my building energy data used?

Modified on Mon, 12 May at 5:12 PM

Sharing your building energy data with Building Benchmark BC gives you access to two personalized deliverables:

  • An Energy Performance Scorecard, which is sent directly to the building owner/manager

  • The BBBC Public Map (Website Link), where building owners/managers have the option to opt-out at any time

The Energy Performance Scorecard displays your building’s basic stats, along with its rank relative to similar building types participating in the program on energy consumed and greenhouse gases emitted. The personalized scorecard includes:

  • Rankings against similar building types in British Columbia

  • Year-over-year trends for your building

  • Breakdown of your energy use data and greenhouse gas emissions

  • Targeted recommendations and potential savings so that you can build your business case

Participation in the Building Benchmark BC Public Map (Website Link) is optional, but we encourage all program participants to show leadership by sharing their property performance on the interactive public map. If you wish to opt-out from disclosure for some or all of your buildings, please notify the Building Benchmark BC Help Desk via email by November 15th.

For more information, view the Terms and Conditions on the Building Benchmark BC website (Website Link).
